African-American History Month

Poster Project 

          February is African-American History Month.  We are each going to research a famous African-American to honor this important month!

For this project, you have already selected your famous African-American.  Your task is to research this person, and created a Biography poster.  This must be done on a large piece of poster board.  This can be found at any department or drug store.

 

Things to include:

·        Why this person is famous

·        Birth and death dates

·        Where they are from and lived

·        A brief history of their life

·        What they are famous for

·        A picture of them

 

Once you have found all the above information, your job is to put it all on a piece of poster board.  Please remember to use a combination of pictures and words.  BE NEAT!! Use various art supplies, no pencil.  Be sure to present this information in an interesting way that would make your classmates stop, look, and learn about your very important person!

Things to remember:

·        All writing must be in your own words.

·        You may use up to 3 internet pictures, and you must draw at least 2 of your own.

·        Please list sources on the back of the poster.

·        Use color.

·        Be extra neat!

·        Be sure to edit your work!

Grading:

20 points-Neatness, Grammar, Spelling

40 points- Following directions-Including all necessary information

10 points- Use of sources

20 points- Presentation

10 Points- Pictures
