We are off to Ancient Arabia.  We already studied some of the geography of this area of the world when we first discussed the northern section of Ancient Mesopotamia.   We will now take a closer look at the history and  the cultures of the region.

SIXTH GRADE PROJECT

Build it!

Choose a building or a place in the ancient world that interests you.  Build it using all of your creative talents.  It can be a single structure like the Parthenon or an area such as a market place or farm.   Do not limit yourself to just the areas we have studied.  There is more to the world than what we have looked at in our books.  Research on the web, find books at the library, and look in the encyclopedia.

In addition to the structure, you must include a brief explanation of what you built and why you chose it.

It may be handwritten or typed and must be 150 to 200 words in length.  Include a full heading, size 12 font, and a readable font style.  I would prefer that you not use edible items to make your project.  If you choose to use such items, please know that the structure will be displayed in the room for only a short period.

Keep the size of the structure or board it is displayed on to no larger than 24” X 24”.

You may work in small groups (three or four) students.
